Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Might be hard to do without coming across as rude...

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Or maybe you can put all your stuff on the seat?

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.
All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I could, but what if Katrina sees this and walks away?

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

You will have to lasso her in. Bring plenty of rope and make sure it is strong.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

The pulling power of the lasso is pretty important, too.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Okay -- but I will probably miss most of this week.

Talking to M over e-mail at the moment. Trying to move on from the formal nature of our conversation -- hopefully, this won't become another F-type scenario. She responds quickly though, that's good.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Yes, you will have to weigh the chance that it could degenerate into that. So you should be sure that you like her.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

The physical attraction is there -- I'm just trying to get to know her a bit. If she turns out like F, I'm outta there.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Okay but you do not want to create tension with someone you will have to see once a week.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I don't have to see her -- it is optional. What kind of tension do you mean?

The same that appeared with F. You do not need that.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

If she rejects me? Hmm... maybe I could ask her out indirectly.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

There are no indirect ways. That is one thing you have to be direct about. Also, face to face is the best way.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I was planning on talking to her face to face last Friday, but I didn't get the chance. Maybe I should have followed her out of the elevator.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Yes, especially as there were others in the elevator...

I wonder how this would be organised if we did end up together. We would have to be secretive.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I'm not sure how UCL would react if I ended up dating my mentor -- nor how others in my group would feel. I might get reported or something.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Wouldn't it be like dating a teacher in a sense?

M is just answering my questions but not responding with any. Not a good sign at all.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Nope, she is not a teacher.

Have you had any positive sign from this girl?

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

She is supposed to be the person to go to if I have any problems, academic or personal, though...

Other than holding my gaze a bit (which could just be normal), not really. I guess I will be moving on swiftly, then. It's been 3 days since Katrina responded too. Perhaps I ought to talk to other girls.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

M asked a question in response this time. I asked her if she always wanted to do maths. She said she considered medicine but didn't like the gory stuff, and posed me the same question.
