Global Tech anyone?

I keep getting a phone call from a guy claiming that my computer is infected and interfering with their site. You see some crazed hacker who has escaped my detection and all possible defenses is riding my machine like Zorro!

So, I play dumb. How hard is that, they think I am an idiot so it is what they expect. I speak to 3 or 4 tech consultants who all agree my machine is dirtier than a bag of wet roaches.

I innocently ask how did you get my phone number. Well they say, they are Global tech. They tracked down my IP and then used it to get my phone number. A pretty good trick by the way.

Okay, so they have the dummy hooked. A lady comes on and tells me not to worry. I tell her I have a bad heart and this is too much stress. She assures me they will clean my rat infested machine for nothing, after all they are Global tech.

I am so happy. I am not going to die and my machine will now run better than new. After all, they are Global tech.
They tell me to go here www.logmein123.com. There I will have my machine remotely controlled and cleaned for the amazing price of zero dollars after all they are Global tech.

Now here is where the story gets interesting after leading these dummies around for a half hour I just hung up. They are going to call back. I am out of ideas of how to waste their time. Got any?

Re: Global Tech anyone?

That's very funny!
I have read about scammers calling to instal malware, and no wonder that they succeed because the majority are dumb.
But how do such crooks manage to get a digital certificate from Thawte, Inc. ? Is there no background check before issuing one?

What reason did they give to tell that your machine is dirty?

Tell them that you have entered the code, yet it's leading you nowhere. They may become more desperate!

Re: Global Tech anyone?

Hi gAr;

They told me that my machine was being used by hackers to damage their site.

Their next step is too install malware on my machine. When the computer crashes they then will offer to fix everything for a price of course. I googled for them and they are very busy. People all over the world have been taken by them, one guy for 4000 dollars.

Yes, the next time they call I am going to play with them a bit more.

Re: Global Tech anyone?

Hi bobbym,

They are operating for more than a year, that too only from GoDaddy.com domain - when someone already had complained about it!

I guess they must be richer than micro**** to operate for such a long time.

Play with them. Ask them very basic questions.
Ask about math, they will definitely hang up!

Re: Global Tech anyone?

Hi gAr;

They depend on volume. The more calls they make the higher the victim count. Delaying them cuts into their profits, next time I am going to put them on hold for a while.

Maybe, I will do what you suggest. I will offer to give them a 23 hour talk on orthogonal polynomials. Free of charge of course.

Re: Global Tech anyone?

Hi bobbym,

Okay. But it's really surprising to see them in action for such a long time!

Yes, that would be fun!

Re: Global Tech anyone?

Hi gAr;

As long as they are preying on common people there is no one to stop them. Now if they were messing with M*8icr-*-so--ft or the MPAA then suddenly the F**B**--I ( which appears to be little more than a security force to protect bankers, corporations and the movie industry ) would be all over them.

Hi,

Hmmm, okay, I get it.

Re: Global Tech anyone?

Hi gAr;

It does look like they will continue their tactic of tricking the unwary for a long time to come. Although I think that everyone here already knows about them I posted it anyway.

Hi bobbym,

Okay.
But look at their greedy guts!
Maybe, they operate outside the US?

Re: Global Tech anyone?

Hi,

Yes, actually there are many "global tech"s with slight variations.
They may sue each other for trademark infringement!

Re: Global Tech anyone?

There is lots of them. They will eventually sue each other and all go bankrupt. The scamsters will remain.

The scamsters claim they are from Micr***** Global Tech. That is an impressive name. I think everyone should send them 4000 dollars.

Right!
Only money can be sent to them, not complaints.

Hi;

They supposedly have a bogus website that you are sent to if you do not like the way you have been robbed.

Hi,

Oh, okay!
I just can't stop wondering that people still fall prey to such old tricks!

Hi anonimnystefy;

Yes, I did a little bit of that and I am going to do more.

Hi gAr;

For some people those are brand new tricks.
