Nokia and Apple settle patent disputeNokia has announced that Apple has agreed to pay royalties for use of its technologies, ending the long-running legal dispute between the two firms. The Finnish company sued Apple for patent infringements in 2009 but Apple in turn accused Nokia of infringing its patents. It is good to see the Americans finally admitting that they are wrong and agreeing to settle up. #2 2011-06-14 19:28:06
Re: Nokia and Apple settle patent dispute
Jane, I do admire your tenacity. Is this not your fourth or fifth statement like this? In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #3 2011-06-14 22:17:11
Re: Nokia and Apple settle patent disputeIndeed so. "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #4 2011-06-14 22:17:51
Re: Nokia and Apple settle patent disputeBobby, I don't know what the problem is. Apple is an American company, isn't it? #5 2011-06-14 22:21:54
Re: Nokia and Apple settle patent disputeYes, it is. Put together by the great Steve Wozniak. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #6 2011-06-14 22:53:28
Re: Nokia and Apple settle patent disputeOh, okay. No problem. I should learn to phrase my sentences more carefully next time to avoid misunderstandings. #7 2011-06-14 22:57:19
