Did you get the last step?

So, what did you get for x?

You mean 0? That is a little o.

Re: Standard normal curve

I made that c in algebra pathetically. I used examples and just went by them. Did not understand it at all.

Re: Standard normal curve

Hello Bobbym. I am here with many problems.
I wish I could understand Algebra better.
9(3x + 9) + (x+ 3) = 14
I know you use the distributive property. 9 x 3 and then 9 x 9. Not sure about the second in parenthesis. x is 1 right? If so that is 1 + 3 or 1 x 3. I know something has to be subtracted from both sides. That is about it for this one and what I don't know.
Thank you and hope today finds you well.

Re: Standard normal curve

Hi survival;

Yes, you can solve it like that.

9* 3x = 27 x and 9 * 9 = 81

Now clean up a little. Add up the 27x + x = 28x

Can you finish from here?

Re: Standard normal curve

Is there an easier way than what i started out doing? I notice in Algebra 1's get subtracted out of no where and I wondered why.

Re: Standard normal curve

Watch what I do. You certainly do not need a calculator for this one.

How much is 81 + 3?

Re: Standard normal curve

So if it is 84 then...

Now we want to get x by itself. Let's get rid of those numbers on the right and left of the equals sign.

How much is 14 + (-14) ?

Re: Standard normal curve

Hold it, one question at a time. One step at a time.

So if we subtract 14 from both sides of the equation we will have:

Now  14 - 14 = 0 and 84 - 14 = ?

Re: Standard normal curve

Hi;

Becomes:

Now if we move that 70 over to the right we will be very close to getting x by itself. How would you do that?
