Re: Standard normal curve

-.526 is a better answer. There is a pretty good calculator online.

Re: Standard normal curve

Hi survival;

It is Monday for you already. None of those actually. All I will say is that I have always been the luckiest person on the earth.

Re: Standard normal curve

hi survival,

Those of us who who have benefited from bobbym's mathematical wisdom over the years think he is the God of Mathematics.  Therefore he does not work, is certainly not at school and will never retire.  I cannot think of another explanation that fits the facts.

Good morning bobbym,

How are you today?

survival:  On your other post about standard normal curves it sounds as if you'd like some background to how it all works.  Say if this is so and I'll prepare a longer reply.

Could be that he is just an idiot. And a lazy one at that.

How am I? Humbled! gAr just showed me how little I know. It is funny how a person can be riding high and then mathematics just slaps him right down. Like being hit in the face by a wet towel.

Anyway, good afternoon.

Speaking of being hit with a towel, Algebra did that to me last semester. Do any of you know anything about Algebra? I have a lot of homework. smile

Is there an easier way to compute Algebra? I have just started on this.

Re: Standard normal curve

Hi survival;

Algebra is computation with variables like arithmetic is computation with numbers. Never speak about math, do it! Post a problem and I will help you.

Not really. But it does get a little easier the more you do.

A,B,C, your in the top 3!

What do you want to do with:

B=hm?

Re: Standard normal curve

haha, that was the little algebra problem
here's a longer one:
5x - 9x + 6 = -2x + 6
how do you determine which one is the one you use to subtract from both sides?

Re: Standard normal curve

Hi;

First clean that up a little bit.

5x - 9x = - 4 x So we have:

Add 2x to both sides to cancel the -2x on the right.

Subtract 6 from both sides.

Divide both sides by -2. Can you finish now?

Re: Standard normal curve

Solve for h. B = hm

You have to get h by itself. The quickest way is to divide both sides by m.

On the right the m's cacel on the top and bottom.

Now just switch them.

On the other problem you have to complete the last step.

Re: Standard normal curve

The steps are numerous but after a while you will see they are repetitive. It is like adding 2, 2 digit numbers and then adding 2, 3 digit numbers. It is more work but not any more difficult.
