There sure is. I am willing to dig a big hole in my backyard capable of holding 500 000 000 barrels of crude. I will then sell it at 10 bucks a barrel. I am sure there are many city ordinances prohibiting people from filling their backyard with crude oil but the politicians here are for sale.

vacuum is very implosive you see, it has a really high effect at high preasures. A really high effect. It would implode the hole.
And for goodness sake, no father of all bombs down there, for that would've killed the hole planet.
I recon that the size of the vacuum capsule would not be much bigger then a regular capsule of medicin, yet would've imploded the whole hole.

sounds good in theory LQ
actually all of these proposals are pretty good and well-thought.
However, there is still the question of whether or not you will be able to achieve this deep underwater with a robot and risking lots of money if it fails.
