Word Search Puzzle

I haven't made puzzles for a while so here is my brand new Word Search Puzzle

I intend to have options for small, medium and large ... and maybe numbers, too!

Waddya reckon? Any requests?

Re: Word Search Puzzle

Hi Mathsisfun;

I had some problems with the larger button. In the small mode the game plays fine. Could use a timer.

Re: Word Search Puzzle

I liked the game very much!

I'd like to fight it against time.. 730_machine_gun_shooting_smiley.gifWish there was a Timer too!

It'll add a taste of competitiveness too!? wink

Re: Word Search Puzzle

Needs difficulty levels. More rows and columns. Smaller words are tougher. Diagonal words are tougher. This one can be easiest level.

Can be solved in around a minute or so. Some sound with the fireworks at the end would be nice.

Re: Word Search Puzzle

This one was much harder taking 4 times longer, I am not sure why.

Maybe because of the overlaps and backward words. Those could emphasized in tougher levels.

Re: Word Search Puzzle

What a lovely lot of feedback ... thanks bobbym and ZHero!

I have version 0.6 now (use refresh). It has 3 sizes of letter puzzle and 2 sizes of *Number* puzzles.

I will now go and think about timing, and difficulty level (more diagonal, backwards, etc).

Re: Word Search Puzzle

Hi;

I was thinking that maybe you could allow the user to input his/her own set of words. This way a parent or a teacher wishing to emphasize a certain set of words could use your game as a teaching device. They could then input say a set of spelling words, historical words  or geographic locations that the educator wishes to reinforce in the students mind.

The new option feature is working fine here.  No trouble with any sizes. Nicely done!

Re: Word Search Puzzle

Version 0.63 ... I also moved it here.

Now has a timer, the name of the game you are playing, and easy/difficult versions.

Hi MathsisFun;

Hard level is working fine. Slowed me down quite a bit.

This is my first score, now you need a place to post the scores.

Re: Word Search Puzzle

Hi Maths;

Can you make the game grid copyable as a text file?

Re: Word Search Puzzle

Hi MathsisFun;

Mostly for inputting them into other programs. Only if you have the time and if you were going to do something like that anyway. I'm thinking they could be typed in, would only take 2 minutes or so,

Re: Word Search Puzzle

OK. New version 0.65.

Has a "Load Words" option, and a "Copy" function too.

And does the "Print" function work for you guys?

Re: Word Search Puzzle

Incredible new features. On the copy feature the grid is transposed from the way it appears  on the page. Printing working fine for me. Thanks!

Re: Word Search Puzzle

Hi MathsisFun;

The copy box is displaying the game grid with the rows as columns when you copy. Is this what you wanted to happen?

Re: Word Search Puzzle

In the picture below, I typed several names for languages in those languages. As you can see, the words stand out plainly. I can see why you wouldn't use the Greek, Chinese, and Korean characters, but maybe the ç in français and the ñ in español if the user types them in? Just asking.

P.S. As you can see in the next picture, the Greek letters are converted. If that was changed, maybe add ε, λ, η, and ά?

Latest newest score!

Is v0.65 on the drawing board? I can only access v0.63. (I wanted to try out the custom list option)

Hi phrontister;

Are you using the link in post #8 because I am getting V .651.   Good score by the way!
