We'll still go walking down country lanes, I'll sing the same old song

Re: Song of the Day!

You do that, Shredz! OMG my radio isn't on! So what's your song of the day?
I believe I used to do this but I think I either lost track or gave up. Usually it's the song that's stuck in my head for a majority of the day. Right now I believe it is a Katy Perry and some other random song.

Re: Song of the Day!

Thursday, April 08, 2010:

In My Time of Dying-Led Zeppelin

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nhd3wEG4BXM

I recently learned how to play this song.

In my time of dying, want nobody to mourn
All I want for you to do is take my body home

Well, well, well, so I can die easy (X2)

Jesus, gonna make up my dyin' bed.
Meet me, Jesus, meet me. Meet me in the middle of the air
If my wings should fail me, Lord. Please meet me with another pair

Well, well, well, so I can die easy (X2)

Jesus, gonna make up.. somebody, somebody...
Jesus gonna make up... Jesus gonna make you my dyin' bed

Oh, Saint Peter, at the gates of heaven... Won't you let me in
I never did no harm. I never did no wrong

Oh, Gabriel, let me blow your horn. Let me blow your horn
Oh, I never did, did no harm.

I've only been this young once. I never thought I'd do anybody no wrong
No, not once.

Oh, I did somebody some good. Somebody some good...
Oh, did somebody some good. I must have did somebody some good...

And I see them in the streets
And I see them in the field
And I hear them shouting under my feet
And I know it's got to be real
Oh, Lord, deliver me
All the wrong I've done
You can deliver me, Lord
I only wanted to have some fun.

Hear the angels marchin', hear the' marchin', hear them marchin',
Hear them marchin', the' marchin'

Oh my Jesus... (repeat)

Oh, don't you make it my dyin', dyin', dyin'...

(Studio Chatter: "That's gonna be the one, isn't it? "
"Come have a listen, then. "
Oh yes, thank you.")

I'm Shipping Up to Boston-Dropkick Murpheys

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmDWHLDRM8k

Lyrics : I'm a sailor peg
And I've lost my leg
Climbing up the top sails
I lost my leg!

I'm shipping up to Boston whoa
I'm shipping up to Boston whoa
I'm shipping up to Boston whoa
I'm shipping off...to find my wooden leg

I'm a sailor peg
And I've lost my leg
Climbing up the top sails
I lost my leg!

I'm shipping up to Boston whoa
I'm shipping up to Boston whoa
I'm shipping up to Boston whoa
I'm shipping off...to find my wooden leg

Fairly simple lyrics to a great song! Little bitta Irish punk for ya!

Land of Confusion-Disturbed

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6KXgjLqSTg

Lyrics:
I must have dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
Moving into the street

Now, did you read the news today?
They say the danger has gone away
But I can see the fire's still alight
Burning into the night.

There's too many men, too many people
Making too many problems
And there's not much love to go around
Can't you see this is the land of confusion?

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in

Oh, superman, where are you now?
When everything's gone wrong somehow?
The men of steel, these men of power
Are losing control by the hour.

And this is the time, this is the place
So we look for the future
But there's not much love to go around
Tell me why this is the land of confusion

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in

I remember long ago
When the sun was shining,
And all the stars were bright, all through the night,
In the wake up this madness, as I held you tight.
So long ago.

I won't be coming home tonight
My generation will put it right
We're not just making promises
That we know we'll never keep

There's too many men, too many people
Making too many problems
And there's not much love to go around
Can't you see this is the land of confusion?

Now, this is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth fighting for

This is the world we live in
And these are the names we're given
Stand up and let's start showing
Just where our lives are going to

Cumbersome-Seven Mary Three

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMLnYaKadZw

Lyrics: She calls me goliath and I wear the david mask

I guess the stones are coming too fast for her now

You know I'd like to believe this nervousness will pass

All the stones that are thrown are building up a wall

I have become cumbersome to this world

I have become cumbersome to my girl

I'd like to believe we could reconcile the past

Resurrect those bridges with an ancient glance

But my old stone face can't seem to break her down

She remembers bridges, burns them to the ground

I have become cumbersome to this world

I have become cumbersome to my girl

Too heavy too light, too black or too white, too wrong or too right, today or tonight

Cumbersome

Too rich or too poor, she's wanting me less and I'm wanting her more

The bitter taste is cumbersome

There is a balance between two worlds

One with an arrow and a cross

Regardless of the balance life has become

Cumbersome

Too heavy too light, too black or too white, too wrong or too right, today or tonight

Cumbersome

Too rich or too poor, she's wanting me less and I'm wanting her more

The bitter taste is cumbersome

Far Behind-Candlebox

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4QL0L9fgbg&feature=related

Lyrics:

Now maybe
I didn't mean to treat you bad
But I did anyway

Now maybe
Some would say your life was sad
But you lived it anyway

And so maybe
Your friends they stand around
They watch you crumble
As you fall onto the ground

And then someday
Your friends they stand beside
As you were flying
Oh you were flying oh so high

But then some day people look at you
For what they call their own
They watch you suffer
Yeah, they hear you calling home

And then some day we could take our time
To brush the leaves aside
So you can reach us
Hey, but you left me far behind

Now maybe
I didn't mean to treat you oh so bad
But I did it anyway

Now say, but maybe some would say
You're left with what you had
But you couldn't share the pain
No, no, no

Couldn't share the pain
They watch you suffer, mmm hmmm

Now maybe
I could have made my own mistakes
But I live with what I've known

And then maybe
We might share in something great
But won't you look at where we've grown?
Won't you look at where we've gone?

But then someday comes
Tomorrow holds a sense of what I fear for you
In my mind
As you trip the final line

And that cold day when you lost control
Shame you left my life so soon
You should have told me
Hey, but you left me far behind

Now maybe
I didn't meant to treat you oh so bad
Oh, but I did anyway

Now maybe
Some would say you're left with what you had
Oh, but you couldn't share the pain
No, no, no

(Solo)

But maybe
I didn't mean to treat you oh so bad
Oh, but I did anyway

No maybe
Some would say you're left with what you had
But you couldn't share the pain

I said, now times have changed your friends
Have come and watch you crumble to the ground
They watch you suffer
Yeah, they hold you down
Hold you down

Maybe brother, maybe love
I didn't mean to treat you bad
But you left me far behind

Left me far behind
Left me far behind

Soul to Squeeze-Red Hot Chili Peppers

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYkVHFP53Do

Lyrics:
Well I got a bad disease,
Up from my brain is where I bleed.
Insanity it seems,
Is got me by my soul to squeeze.
Well all the love from me,
With all these dying trees I scream.
The Angels in my dreams,
Have turned to demons of greed,
That's mean.

Where I go I just don't know,
I got to, got to, gotta take it slow.
When I find my piece of mind,
I'm gonna give you some of my good time.

Today loves smiled on me,
It took away my pain, say please
I'll let your ride be free,
You gotta let it be,
Oh yeah

Where I go I just don't know,
I got to, gotta, gotta take it slow.
When I find my piece of mind,
I'm gonna give you some of my good time.

Yeah

Oh so polite indeed,
Well I got everything I need.
I'll make my days a breeze,
And take away my self destruction.

It's bitter baby,
And it's very sweet.
I'm on a rollercoaster,
But I'm on my feet.
Take me to the river,
Lay me on your shore.
I'll be coming back baby,
I'll be coming back for more.

(Scat)
Like an apple gift, but I went out and never
Said my pleasure, I'm much better but I wont regret it never

Where I go I just don't't know,
I got to, got to, gotta take it slow.
When I find my piece of mind,
I'm gonna give you some of my good time.

Where I go I just don't know,
I might end up somewhere in Mexico.
When I find my piece of mind,
I'm gonna keep you for the end of time.

Hey Hey What Can I Do-Led Zeppelin

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7iqZE0KciE

Lyrics:
Wanna tell you 'bout the girl I love - my, she looks so fine
She's the only one that I been dreamin' of; maybe some day she will be all mine
I wanna tell her that I love her so - I thrill with her every touch
I need to tell her she's the only one I really love

I got a woman wanna ball all day
I got a woman - she won't be true, no
I got a woman stay drunk all the time
I said, I got a little woman and she won't be true

On Sunday morning when we go down to church - see the men-folk standin' in line
They say they come to pray to the Lord, but when my little girl looks so fine
In the evening when the sun is sinkin' low and everybody's with the one they love
I'll walk the town, keep a-searchin' all around -

Lookin' for my street-corner girl

I got a woman wanna ball all day, yeah
I got a woman - she won't be true, no, no
I got a woman stay drunk all the time
I said, I got a little woman and she won't be true

In the bars with the men who play guitars - singin', drinkin' and rememberin' the time
My little lover does a midnight shift - she ball around all of the time
I guess there's just one thing left for me to do - gonna pack my bags and move on my way
'Cause I got a worried mind, sharin' what I thought was mine -

Gonna leave her where the guitars play

I got a woman - she won't be true, no, no
I got a woman wanna ball all day, yeah, yeah
I got a woman stay drunk all the time
I got a little woman and she won't be true

(Hey, hey, what can I do?)

I said, she won't be true, no (yeah, no, yeah, no, yeah, no, yeah, no)

(Whoa, whoa, what can I say?)

(Hey, hey, what can I do?)

Keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on

(Whoa, whoa, what can I say?)

(Hey, hey, what can I do?)

Keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on (yeah, yeah)

(Whoa, whoa, what can I say?)

(Hey, hey, what can I do?)

Oh, yeah; oh, yeah; oh, yeah; oh, yeah

(Whoa, whoa, what can I say?)

Hey, hey what can I do?
I got a woman - she won't be true

(Hey, hey, what can I do?)

Whoa, whoa, whoa, hear what I say
I got a woman wanna ball all day

(Whoa, whoa, what can I say?)

Keep on, keep on

(Hey, hey, what can I do?)

I chose thi song cuz it kinda describes my situation. My girlfriend isnt exactly, um, honest.

Dude, you can post the song name. Without the lyrics people will still pretend to know what you're talking about.

I mean, Shredz, you can do what ZHero has done and just leave a link to the lyrics rather than writing them done the page.

Yes, i now this song is ancient, but its great! You here it all the time in movies and tv, for Example: The longest Yard(newer version), My Name Is Earl(the episode where he gets a job at the appliance store).
