Re: Save Me From Failure

ok so if we have this:

One polygon has a side of length 3 feet. A similar polygon has a corresponding side of length 9 feet. The ratio of the perimeter of the smaller polygon to the larger is_____

You dont change the units because they are the same so it is 3 to 9 correct? Which is simplified is 1/3 right?

Re: Save Me From Failure

Hi;

That's correct.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.

Re: Save Me From Failure

bobbym wrote:

Not true. I am never annoyed at a question. I learn a lot from answering a question.

Next one:

Find the ratio of X to Y

X/3 = 5/8 = 5/Y the answer is Y = 8.

can we come back to this?

In confused because we are supposed to be finding the ratio between x and y...

so since you found Y how do i do the rest? Now i need to find X in order to find the ratio between the two right?

Re: Save Me From Failure

ok now i see i mistook a 3 for an 8

ok the real problem is:

Find the ratio of X to Y

X/3 = 5/3 = 5/Y

please forgive me that was a bone-head error sad

Re: Save Me From Failure

X is to 3 as 5 is to 3 : So X is 5

Then 5 is to 3 as 5 is to Y so Y is 3

Is that okay, misheeru? I can create a video if the solution is still unclear.

Re: Save Me From Failure

I like your vids devante however I am restricted to go to site like youtube on the school school computor.

X is to 3 as 5 is to 3 : So X is 5

Then 5 is to 3 as 5 is to Y so Y is 3

I  sorta see what you are sayin however my exercises are multiple choice and i need find out how to shorten that or write it differently to match their choices sad
