That's relatively interesting, but the expression is to equal 13.

That expression equals 26, not 13.

Hi gAr;

Yes, that does equal 26.

Now I am playing catchup,

Hi bobbym,

I was trying to delete that post, but wasn't able to.

Anyway, you missed 16328.

Re: Add 13 more and post it forever.

Hi gAr;

In this thread the post# * 13 must equal the number. That is why I played catchup and skipped that one. This happens when someone forgets to put in an aligned number.

Usually I am the guilty one of getting out of alignment.

So I will skip 16354, to catchup:

Hi gAr,

gAr wrote:

I think that reconsideryouranswer is only saying that my expression should be one that equals 13, not that the answer is incorrect. There's no rule about that, of course.

There's only one written rule: "Add 13 more and post it forever". Then there's the unwritten one about post# * 13 = the number...which we only adhere to so that quittyqat's wrath doesn't descend on us! shame The rest is open slather imagination, somehow using the number &/or #13.

There are some good examples in the old posts! smile

16432

Let y = 16432

a = CONCATENATE(LEFT(y),RIGHT(y),MID(y,2,2)) = 1264 (post #)

b = CONCATENATE(SUMPRODUCT(LEN(y)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(y,"3",""))),MID(y,4,1)) = 13

a x b = y = 16432 what

Or, to put it more simply: The post number (whose digits are similar to four of the post's number's digits - bit of a tongue-twister!), multiplied by the concatenation of the number of occurrences of "3" (which is the only dissimilar digit between the post's number's digits and the post number's digits) and that digit itself (which concatenation just happens to be the 2-digit number that is the subject of this thread), equals the post's number. Eerie, isn't it!? eek

We are all motivated by a keen desire for praise, and the better a man is, the more he is inspired by glory

I have lived long enough to satisfy both nature and glory.

The noblest spirit is most strongly attracted by the love of glory.

All honor to him who shall win the prize,'The world has cried for a thousand years;But to him who tries and fails and dies,I give great honor and glory and tears.

I do not know what happened there. I have cleaned that mess up, sorry for the delay.

I'll wait for the dust to settle...!

The greater the difficulty, the greater the glory.

I feel rather cheated, 'cos leading you astray wasn't all that difficult! smile

Your quotes:
1. Better than whom? Myself at this moment?
2. I'm too young for this one.
3. Only for vain nobles.
4. I'll have to wait for me to die before I get the glory!

I may already be older than you.

I haven't worked out your age, even though I've read all 1832 posts on the 'How old are you bobbym?' thread.

Can you beat 27?
