btw, How to find the area of a circle when an equilateral triangle with sides 2 units is inscribed in the circle? It's not Heron's Formula?
Oh.. Okay, but for the rest?
I recently received 100 "out of the world maths question" from somebody, I complete them but stuck with a few, so help will be great, also explanation on how you did it please.
Q1) A student wrote down the following sequence of numbers : the first number is 1, the second number is 2, and after that, each number is obtained by adding together all previous numbers. Determine the 12th number in the sequence.
A1) My answer is 1536, I did it bu writing it all on a piece of paper by adding them all up, there is a better way to do it right?
Q2) Adam has £2010 in his bank account. He donates £10 to charity every day. His first donation is on Monday. On what day will he donate his last £10?
A2) My answer is Monday, I did it by drawing it all up. I'm sure there is a better way to do it? Please show me how.
Q3) A circle and a square overlap such that the overlapping area is 50% of the area of the circle, and is 25% of the area of the square. Find the ratio of the area of the square outside the circle to the area of the whole figure.
A3) I have no idea about his one, please show me how you did it.
Q4) Find the number of different pairs of positive integers (a,b) for which
andQ5) There positive integers a,b and c are given such that
Q6) Find the number of positive integers less than 500, which is not divisible by 5 or 7.
A6) I know how to do this all on a big piece of paper, but there is a easier way? Please show me how.
Q7) Find the smallest positive integers n such that every digit of n is either 0 or 7, and n is divisible by 15.
A7) Again, I could do that on a big piece of paper, but please show me a easier way to do it.
Q8) Let n and k be two positive integers such that k is less than n. It is known that (1+2+3+4+...+n) + k = 101. Find k.
A8) I do not know how to do this.
Q9)Find the last digit of :
That's all, thanks everyone. p.s I need help with modifying it... Like the way I do it with a few more answers, I might post it later.
EDIT*** Can someone show me the worked method?
How did you came up with pappym and mammym o.O? And also Bob? As in Bobbym? o.O
http://scifi.about.com/od/starwarscharacters/a/Profile-Yoda.htm
No, bobbym (I mean Yoda) was born in an unknown planet in 896 BBY
I'm bringing some other books with me, so I could totally ignore the other classes that is not my cup of tea.
So you were born in New York? I see... Ugh... School is starting tomorrow here...
Didn't you come from NV?
"The way my brain works is that when you give me something, information about that topic comes into my mind. I don't know what it is but that's how it is for me," said Abraham.
HMM....
*Half sister
Come to Massachusetts.
Do you study there? I'm not even sure about which school I'm going yet, but I will be going next year. I have 2 elder sisters one live in New York and another I'm not sure where... (They are actually my step sister)
School or state?
That is not a big step, the matrix makes you think so. Snap out of it! Lol as big as it might get I will still have to move there for university anyway...
If I move to the U.S. I will need a F-1 visa, but with that visa I will have to attend a private high school. My sister lives in the U.S. so if my parents agree with everything that move could be possible. The only problem now is with the visa and government stuff, because if I use the F-1 I'm only allowed to study in a private high school which I'm not sure if they offer AP or not. And one more problem would be how will a university in the us accept me early?
Hmm.. From what I know is : If we have 3xy and the question ask what is the coefficient of y then my answer is 3x.
And another example, if we have 34abc and the question ask find the coefficient of 34 then it's abc.
Typo... edited.
It matters, the Malays think that if someone failed Malay they shouldn't be human. But if the Malays failed english they make a excuse that it's a foreign language that is not important. I don't understand them much at all.
I failed Malay in school. The only one to fail.
Nope, but if the ministry here won't let me graduate early, I will prove it to them that I should. My school thinks that I'm a weirdo of some sort, I too will prove it to them that I'm not.
Well. They think maths and science could be taught in Malay, but they don't even have a word for science, most of the words in maths and science are translated from English. What's the point of teaching maths and science in Malay when they just translate the word? Wouldn't that lose their identities? I don't understand what the people here think.
But a 15 year old could be more mature than a 20 year old. As far as I'm concerned, I'm more mature than the government here http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysia/article/malays-will-lose-identity-if-maths-and-science-are-taught-in-english-say-is read that and you will now how education work in this place.
It's might be likely actually. I have dual nationality, but my parents have to work here. I might live with my aunt of something. I might look up about the challenge exam. Or make myself known like what that Jamie Edwards bloke did, build a nuclear reactor of some sort.
