Ah, but you see, I would have if I could have.

Heard of the first four. Who's Dino?

#578 Re: Computer Math » Markov chains » 2014-09-09 12:04:06

What are they? I probably don't know them as such.

#579 Re: Help Me ! » rat run probability » 2014-09-09 12:03:03

Still not sure what a bumpkin is, though.

There must be a kind of music that you like to listen to.

#580 Re: Computer Math » Markov chains » 2014-09-09 11:55:31

What would be your point?

Rule 1 and rule 2?

#581 Re: Help Me ! » rat run probability » 2014-09-09 11:50:17

Thought it might be more than 5. You still haven't said what kind of music you like.

#582 Re: Computer Math » Markov chains » 2014-09-09 11:49:08

Modern? It was written in 1929.

Why do you think we don't listen?

#583 Re: Help Me ! » rat run probability » 2014-09-09 11:45:20

I'd like to say no, but actually yes. You strike me as a guy who wouldn't listen to any music made in the last 5 years.

#584 Re: Computer Math » Markov chains » 2014-09-09 11:43:59

Hm, have you ever read Migrations by Milos Crnjanski?

And, why do you think nobody listens to you?

#585 Re: Help Me ! » rat run probability » 2014-09-09 11:40:55

I like Sound of Silence and El Condor Pasa.

I mostly prefer them too, but there are certainly male ones that I appreciate. But I'm guessing you like older music.

#586 Re: Computer Math » Markov chains » 2014-09-09 11:36:34

Are you ever beside yourself? smile

#587 Re: Help Me ! » rat run probability » 2014-09-09 11:35:30

Hm, what do you like listening to, then?

What about those? I've only heard the first one.

#588 Re: Computer Math » Markov chains » 2014-09-09 11:32:45

Okay. Are you getting any results?

#589 Re: Help Me ! » rat run probability » 2014-09-09 11:22:14

Might be. Their voices really aren't that special, but I really like the lyrics of The Sound of Silence.

What music do you like, again? I know you like Frank.

#590 Re: Computer Math » Markov chains » 2014-09-09 11:19:28

Yes, so? We are looking for the probability that No. 1 is released.

#591 Re: Computer Math » Markov chains » 2014-09-09 09:13:59

Hm, actually, make it 9 states.

What should the answer be? I am getting

#592 Re: Help Me ! » rat run probability » 2014-09-09 07:53:21

Not a lot. Maybe two of their songs and not a lot more.

#593 Re: Help Me ! » rat run probability » 2014-09-09 07:28:49

So? It reminds me of a song of theirs.

Hm, reminded me of Simon and Garfunkel.

You can try doing it with a 12-state Markov chain. smile

#597 Re: Puzzles and Games » replace the question mark » 2014-09-07 02:22:54

I'm going to make a hypothesis that the answer is a single digit positive integer.

#599 Re: Puzzles and Games » replace the question mark » 2014-09-06 21:09:58

Might be. smile

Do you have any guess what the answer might be?

#600 Re: Puzzles and Games » replace the question mark » 2014-09-06 21:04:17

Because I think that is what the creator of the puzzle was going for.
