I need help on these few problems i got wrong. I put teachers comments down below.

8. Each set of numbers below represents the lengths of three line segments.
Which set represent line segments that could be connected to form a triangle? Give the reasoning or show your work to support your choice
A. (3, 5, 7)
B. (3, 4, 8)
C.(1, 4, 6)
D. (1, 3, 5)
E. (5, 6, 11)
F. (1, 10, 20)

9. Each set of numbers below represents the lengths of three line segments.
Which set represent line segments that could be connected to form a triangle?  Give the reasoning or show your work to support your choice
A. (2, 2, 5)
B. (5, 4, 1)
C.(5, 10, 15)
D. (7, 10, 16)
E. (2, 3, 5)
F. (5, 10, 25)

19. Here are two triangles. I am trying to measure the area of triangle ABC. The formula for area of a triangle is
base*height/2.

I know the base, but I need to find the height. I know the top of triangle ABC is directly above a point 4.5 units from point A. I also know that

What is the triangle's height? 19.31 square units

20. The sun is shining and I am on a hill. I want to measure the height of a tree downhill from me, using my one-meter stick, and a tape measure for measuring shadows. What do I do to take the slope of the hill into account? Not possible

Teacher Comments on work :

#8-9   incorrect... what is the RULE?
#19    this is the AREA... use it to find the HEIGHT... show all work
#20    this is just asking if you need to do anything special to take slope into account when you and the tree are on the SAME hill

Here is how i answers these questions. Apparently I got them wrong and I need help getting the right answers, Ive been stuck forever. Ill post what the teacher comments were on my work down below.

1.     Robin knows that if he hits the white part of the target, he just slightly win, therefore not embarrassing John. What is the probability that Robin will hit the white part of the target (not the red and not the bull’s-eye)? Show your work.

 3.14(2)2

= 12.56

3.14(6)2

= 113.04

3.14(9)2

= 254.34

2.     After Robin shoots into the white area, John knows he cannot win, so he decides to set his sites on second place. To get second place, he needs to hit either the white circle or the bull’s-eye. What is the probability that he can do that? Show your work.

3.14(2)2 =

12.56 / /

3.14(6)2 =

113.04 / /

3.14(9)2 =

254.34

The table is 30 inches wide and 180 inches long. The width of the 2 and 3 rectangles is 12 inches. The sides of the 4 rectangle are 15 inches and the top and bottom are 12 inches. The 1 rectangle is twice as wide as the 2

3. What are the dimensions of the 1 rectangle?

4. What are the measurements of one of the 5 rectangles?

5. You are playing shuffleboard in P.E. class. To score points, your disc must land in a box on the other side of the table and you are awarded the number of points that is in that box. What is the probability of scoring 1 point? 1 out of 5

6. What is the probability of scoring 2 points? 1 out of 5

7. What is the probability of scoring 3 points?1 out of 5

8. What is the probability of scoring 4 point?1 out of 5

9. What is the probability of scoring 5 point?1 out of 5

10. What is the probability of scoring at all (any number of points)? 5 out of 5

Teacher Comments on my work :

1-2   you need to find the PROBABILITY... take the specific area asked for and divide by area of entire target!

#3-4   where are these?  Use the info given to LABEL the diagram

$5-10   find the area of each rectangle and then use those too find probability!

These 6 questions I completed but I got wrong. Could someone please help me get the correct answers? Ill post what my teacher had to comment about my answers down below.

1. Refer to the image at the right. If angle 1 is 30 degrees, and angle 5 is 70 degrees, are the two lines

parallel? Explain.

1 should = 5 if they are parallel and had a transversel through them.

2. Refer to the image at right. If angle 2 is 30 degrees and angle 4 is 60 degrees, are the lines parallel?

Explain.

co-interior angles are supplementary and thus 6+4 should = 180. 30 and 60 obviously are

complementary, not supplementary.

3. Refer to the image at right. If angle 2 and angle 6 are both 70 degrees, are the lines parallel? Explain.

I have no clue what the answer is for this one.

5. What is the measure of the inner angle of a regular hexagon? Show your work (and be sure to explain

anything you deem necessary to make sure your work is clear.)

A. A hexagon has 6 sides.

180 x 6 = 1080

The sum of the angles of deviation is 360

SO

1080 360 = 720

The final answer is 720

6. What is the measure of the inner angle of a regular decagon? Show your work (and be sure to explain

anything you deem necessary to make sure your work is clear.)

A. A decagon has 10 sides.

180 x 10 = 1800

The sum of the angles of deviation is 360

SO

1800 360 = 1440

7. Polygon A has sides of 4, 3, 5, and 3. Polygon B has sides of 8, 6, 10, and 6. What are the two possible

scale factors here? Explain.

To get my scale factor, I will need to divide the two polygons. This is how I

will do it along with the answers for each number:

4 / 8 = 1/2

3 / 6 = 1/2

5 / 10 = 1/2

3 / 6 = 1/2

So now we know the scale factor is 1:2.

10. A right triangle has a 90 degree angle, and an angle x. What will the measure of the third angle be?

I believe the answer for this would be 90 x.

Teachers comments on my work :
#1-3    Now state whether or not the lines are parallel

#5-6    What is the measure of ONE angle?

#7    and what is the OTHER possible scale factor for these measurements?

#10    90x means 90*x...  that is incorrect... is there another relationship between 90 and x?

10. a

Two of the angles are listed. Find the measure of the third angle in each triangle. Similar to example 6
18. a, (a + 80)
