Calm down my friend, remember your arteries.
Is that a problem for a 27-year-old? My ticker's motoring along well and my blood pressure's normal.
That bus will probably get me, though; or (and this is MIF's fault) sleep-deprivation-induced organ malfunction.
Not that I'm very clever on the keyboard...here's my best effort, which I recorded while trying out some buttons on a synth I had. If you have the stamina and determination to hear it right through to the end you'll hear quite a range of instruments and effects. You may also think that I recorded it on a windy day with the door open...but I didn't.
Yes, please! I'm very interested to see it.
No, it didn't. For some reason the sum at the end of each segment was 2 less than what it should have been. All the others - the intermediates and the first element of segments - were fine.
Adapting the formula that solves for n was my undoing.
Hi Bobby,
I found that my 13133... sequence formula gives an incorrect answer for the last element of each segment.
I've corrected it, and I think that it now works for all cases.
Hi Bobby,
Hi misheeru,
I think you should visit this site that reveals the character (which bobbym certainly is!) that you're thinking of, and suggest that one of their questions asks for the character's age.
Then just keep playing the game, using different ages until Akinator reveals that your character is bobbym...and then you'll know his age! Easy!!
Hi Bobby,
Now, I don't want to get too negative about this, but I'm positive that, given your renowned, well-justified aversion for mathematical physicists, it would have been more prudent for you to have tucked your magic square behind MIF's 'hide' tab rather than to expose it naked to the world here in a non-members' area of this most popular public forum, where any mischief-bent undesirables can lay their grubby hands on it and do their dastardlies. <brrrr!>
The awful, aptly-named 'obliteration bomb' is a prime example of something that had great potential for advancement of good to go horribly wrong once the technology found its way into dark, unscrupulous hands. One shudders to think of the profound, dire consequences should its full potential ever be unleashed!
I fear that prevention of misuse of the magic square's powers may already be too late, but if I were you I'd employ moderator privilege and delete that throbbing post!

Being so overcome with the emotion of the moment, I can't think of a single thing that I can do with this number.
EDIT: The emotion has waned...
5-1+0+9 = 13
Nice, ZHero!
Took me all day to type it into my calculator...and it's good.
Is there an easy copy/paste of math code into some program that can read it and do the sums? WolframAlpha didn't like the flavour of my paste.
, which gives accuracy to only quite a few decimal places.
That's a top idea, ZHero!
I went back and changed my post on page 15 so that it now fits.
Yes, mine has too...and thank goodness for that! Having to scroll right to read the off-the-page stuff was a drag. I thought it would correct itself on this new page.
The same happened on another forum I'm on, but it was something to do with putting long text in between quotation marks...but the text wasn't longer than the page width!
4927
√4*9+2-7 = 13
CONCATENATE(SQRT(MID(4927,2,1))-MID(4927,3,1),RIGHT(4927)-LEFT(4927)) = 13
4901
(4+9+0)*1 = 13
CONCATENATE(RIGHT(4901),RIGHT(LEFT(4901)+MID(4901,2,1))) = 13
Hi Bobby,
My factorization program's progress bar virtually didn't move - if at all - overnight and I turned it off this morning. Now I'll never know how many billions of years it would have taken to complete the task!
Hi Bobby,
I factorized the long number in my post #361 so that it now isn't too hopelessly long for the page. I tried it with yours, and although my factorizing program is still busily working at it, it looks like it may only reduce to 3 small factors (2^8, 13^2 & 38993^2), plus one huge one.
4784
4!-7-8+4 = 13
4797
4+7+9-7 = 13
Pages 14 & 15 have that problem, but not p13. P16 will probably be ok.
Hi Bobby,
Since posting those long lines in our posts my browser's right-hand margin has widened to way beyond the edge...both in IE & Firefox. For you too?
Aaah...worked it out. Nice one, Bobby!
'k. But I thought you'd like mine, 'cos I thought it was pretty!
4641
4+6+4-1 = 13
I checked your two biggies, Bobby, and (would you believe) they're both right. Just thought I'd let you know.
Btw, how did you work them out?
