the question in the book states:

A 9kg hanging weight is connected by a stringover a pulley to a 5kg block that is sitting on a flat table.  if the kinetic friction is .200, find the tnesion in the string.

The answer in the book is 37.8 N

Can anyone help me to understand how this was gotten?

The speed  of a 4kg object is given by v=(2t) m/s, where t is in seconds.  At what rate is the resultant force on this object during work at t=1 second?
