There is an alternative puzzle:
ALPHA + BETA + GAMMA = DELTA
(British spelling of alpha and correct spelling of gamma). This has the advantage that there are 10 different letters so you have to use all 10 digits 0 to 9. There are 14 different solutions to this puzzle.
