In regard to 9recurring made an account because I disagree with your math.
So you let x = 0.999...
And 10x = 9.999...
But how does subtracting x from the left side = 9x?
Why wouldn't it be: 10 = 9.999... - x
10 = 9.999... - .999...
10 = 0.999...
So 0.999 = 10 I guess.
