Hi Bob,

Thanks for directing me to scientific notation explanation.

if i understand correctly than

-1.1576e-005 = -1.1576 x 10^005 [i think 005 mean -5]
so it will be -1.1576 x 10^-5 => 0.00011576  (i think it is a big value)

and

4e-008 = 4 x 10^008  [i think 008 mean -8]
so it will be -4 x 10^-8 => -0.000000004 (i think it is small value)

Am i right?

I want to understand how to say that this value is too large or too small.

Hi;

That is scientific notation:

-1.1576e-005 = -.000011576

4e-008 = .00000004

Hi all,

I am interested to understand the wavelets transform in 2D and 1D.

Anyone can help me to understand the basic concept.
I read paper on 2D wavelet but really did not understand any one .. did not understand basic mathematical concept.

Please if anyone have knowledge in this area than pls share and help me to understand it . thanks you

Hi Bob and hello to everyone smile

In my previous post, i posted the first derivative of 2D function f(x+u,y+v) by the taylor series expansion.

This time i want to apply SVD singular value decomposition on 2D function f(x+u, y+v).
But do not have idea how to do it.

Anyone can pls help me to direct to it. thank you

Well i defined Mod in histogram is the most frequent frequency value in histogram. Do you understand it now?

Does both have same meaning?

I was joking all the time then.

We have 2 > 0, so why should 2 be smaller?

2 is small enough than 40 or 50.
And also it is noise for me in the data.
that's y i have to ignore or remove smaller numbers or weak points.
I am looking a method to ignore small numbers as noise.

Hi pari;

What do you mean by 2 is the smaller number?

As you said that it is easy to define.

If anyone have something to suggest me than please shoot ideas.
thank you.

#15 Re: Help Me ! » get strong points » 2015-05-10 22:58:15

Please leave 3x3 window for now.

weakest point meant smaller value and strongest point meant bigger value..

in values 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2, 2 is the bigger number but actually it is the smaller number.

And for example we have values like this
19 43 43 45 28 5 0 0 0 0 0

In that data, 45 is the biggest number among all other number given above.
And really 45 is the bigger number ..  .you can say that it is hard to break.

And 0 is not in my consideration because 0 have no meaning for me right now.

so 2 is the weakest point in these values
0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2

and 45 is the strongest point in these values
19 43 43 45 28 5 0 0 0 0 0

Kindly suggest me any method by which i will be able to discriminate strongest and weakest point.

thanks

#16 Re: Help Me ! » get strong points » 2015-05-10 21:06:00

Ok Let's forget about 3x3 window .

For example, i have these values .
19 43 43 45 28 5 0 0 0 0 0

I want find strongest point, greater than 0.

One way is to use maximum value to get the strongest point.

But for example, we have points are like these 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2
than point >0 , which is 2 as the maximum value. but 2 is the weakest point,
But i have to consider only strongest point only.

Hello All,

I am interested to find eigen values .
There are two ways to find eigen values of 2x2 matrix

Let say A is a matrix of size 2x2 ,
A = [2     1]
      [1     2]

1. so ( A - lamda I ) = 0, where I is the identity matrix

2. second way is shown in the attached image

Source:  http://www.soest.hawaii.edu/martel/Cour … ectors.pdf

I can get eigen values from method 1.
But i am failed to get second eigen value from method 2.

Anyone can pls help me.
Thanks

divide 10x10 block into 4 equal blocks.

not 9x9 blocks. sorry

No, i wanna equally 4 rectangles,.
The rectangle that you points .. those are not equal size.

Like this attached image. .

Well, i was just considering only in context of shape.
Shape wise they might look similar.
anyway.. thanks guys for having a very nice discussuion

#23 Re: Help Me ! » difference of zero, circle and alphabet O » 2014-12-10 13:34:46

similarly, shape wise.. there is not a difference between 7 and > sign. both look similar in shape wise.

What you guys give opinion on it.

thanks

But i think in shape wise,.. both are same. .

Well, we use a circle to represent the two later things but it is just a notation.
