I was just thinking about what should be the answer as to where the dog is now.
Quoting from mathsisfun site:
"A girl, a boy, and a dog start walking down a road.
They start at the same time, from the same point, in the same direction.
The boy walks at 5 km/h, the girl at 6 km/h.
The dog runs from boy to girl and back again with a constant speed of 10 km/h. The dog does not slow down on the turn.
How far does the dog travel in 1 hour?
10km. Because the dog's speed is 10 km/h.
Where the boy and girl are has no effect on answering this puzzle.
But if you asked WHERE the dog is after 1 hour that would be a very hard question to answer."
Could it be done by taking the oscillatory motion of the dog, with constant speed and increasing time period and integrating it?...Or can it be possible that the dog is either close to the boy or the girl?
Hi samalia, goteamusa, LycanMaster;
Read the statement of the question slowly and carefully..break it down into simple logical parts.
The man says, "Brothers and sisters, I have none, but that man's father, is my father's son."
1. Brothers and sisters, I have none --- means that he is the only child of his parents.
2. but that man's father --- 'that' refers to the person in the portrait.
3. (but that man's father,) is my father's son --- now my father's son means he himself, since he is an only child right?. So he is 'that man's father'...and so 'that man' is his son!
Reply if you still have any doubt..and well said bobbym.
Hi, I had a query..
If he were to say:
"When counted in twos, 1 remains,
When counted in threes, 2 remain,
When counted in fours, 3 remain,
When counted in fives, 4 remain,
When counted in sixes, 5 remain,
When counted in sevens, 6 remain,...
so on till
When counted in elevens, none remain"
Will the least answer be 30239?
Could anyone verify if this would be the least answer...thanks..
In a camp for swimmers, there were 5 persons. They were to jump into a nearby pool and shout out either "Dive" or "Swim". The first person always had to say "Swim", then the next "Dive" then next one "Swim" and so on..
But, out of those 5, one was a Dis-obedient, another a Blind-Follower and one more(who hated the Dis-obedient guy) was the Anti-DO.
Now the Dis-obedient always said what he shouldn't say. The Blind-Follower spoke the same word as the one in front would say and Anti-DO said the opposite word of what Dis-obedient said.
The following sequence was heard from the 1st to the 5th man.
5 4 3 2 1
Swim Dive Swim Swim Swim
Can you guess which one was which?.:)
