Hi,

You're welcome!
The caelinux wiki pages look good enough to get started, and it even has LaTeX and LyX editor!

What other things does it have?

There is a big distro CAELinux, OpenFOAM is one of the included softwares. Never used it, though.
Not worth the download if OpenFOAM is the only one you need.

Oh. I've never heard of bin

bobbym

Don't .bin, .sh and .run already do that?

Why diesn't linux have thimgs that run on all the distros?

bobbym

The extractor has uncompressed them. When they are compressed they are gibberish.

If I look into a dot deb with an extractor will they contain .run files?

bobbym

Those are like executables in Windows.
