So, 1 Yen = 811 lira, and you have 1,000,000 lira??
That would get you 1,000,000/811 = 1233 Yen (or the other way around 1233 Yen would get you 1233x811 = 1,000,000 lira)
Now, with 1233 Yen, you would get 1233/110 = $11.20
Let's just work that backwards to see: $11.20 x 110 x 811 = 999,152 Lira (close enough to 1,000,000)
Now, with $11.20 I could buy a newspaper, and probably a magazine, and maybe even a hamburger, whoohoo !!

In September 1996, one Us dollar was worth 110 Japanese yen, and one yen is worth 811 Turkish lira. If you have 1,000,000 (one million) lira, would you be able to buy an American house, car or newspaper? Explain how you dicided.
